Repository Configuration (lineai.json)
Each repository that Lineai manages carries a lineai.json file in the root of its default
branch. The file controls how Lineai opens upgrade pull requests for that repository.
You normally receive this file automatically: when the Lineai GitHub App
is added to a repository, it opens a pull request that adds a default lineai.json for you to
review and merge. On the manual installation path, the setup
wizard provides the same file.
{ "branchNamePrefix": "lineai/", "scheduledUpgradesPerDay": 1, "maxOpenPrs": 3}Options
Section titled “Options”| Option | Description |
|---|---|
branchNamePrefix | Prefix for branches Lineai creates (default: lineai/) |
scheduledUpgradesPerDay | How many upgrade PRs to open per day (1–4, default: 1) |
maxOpenPrs | Limit on individual open upgrade PRs (default: 3). Grouped patch/minor and security PRs are opened in addition to this limit — see below. |
Changes take effect after the updated file is merged to the repository’s default branch.
How many pull requests will I see?
Section titled “How many pull requests will I see?”Grouping keeps low-risk updates (patch/minor) and urgent updates (security) from competing with larger upgrades for the open-PR budget: routine bumps arrive as a single reviewable batch, and security fixes are never held back because the limit is already spent on major upgrades.
